Hi Group,

Just signed up with AOL with their free laptop and broadband and
wireless router.

I've setup broadband with routers before and had no problems.

So I've got the laptop talking to the router and set the router
network login
and password. <a etc for AOL.

However router says authentication failed.

Is there some other settings I should be using.

Documentation says network username and password but also
says about a screen username and password. But I assume this is their
mail and other stuff which I'm not interested in.

Don't really want to install the AOL software anyone out there set a
AOL broadband connection up manually? Anything else I should be
changing?

I purchased a 3G USB modem from 3 UK. Since it is only intended for
emergency use when my ADSL goes down, or for use when away, I
subscribed only to the Broadband Lite 1GB/month tariff, which is only
£5/month as I am an existing 3 account holder. However I understand
that I will be charged an arm and a leg if I exceed this usage by even
A blog posting I found suggested that it is possible to set a cap on
usage so that you can't exceed the limit, but 3 don't tell you how.
Does anyone know? In fact, how can you tell how much you have used?
The modem is not listed in my My 3 account.

Hi

I've just bought a second hand laptop (few years old) that has one of
these with it to connect wirelessly. I've downloaded the latest driver
from the Linksys website and installed it (I did a fresh install of XP
too). It works but seems a bit slow , but the laptop is old so not too
surprised. Anyway, I looked at the Advanced tab of the details of the
card in Device Manager and I see it's using the wrong channel, and it
can only use channels 1-11 (which I understand is for use in the US).
There's nowhere to change the region in this dialogue box, nor in the
Linksys software (that I can see). How can I change it to Europe?

thanks,
