Default Cable modem comcast problem

I have a simple family computer P4 with Win 2000 1.8g w/ 512 ram. Just
had comcast cable hooked up and all worked well. They installed a
Motorola SB4200 and connected it to a Lan connection on motherboard.
Yesterday I booted up computer and browser could not connect to the
internet. Checking the Network Window, the local area connection is
enabled, the connection window mentions that it is connected at 100
mbps and the just over 3400 bytes has been sent and zero received. The
lights on the modem are on and the activity light is flashing as
normal as the line activity light next to the plug is also flashing
with the other on constantly. I have a mobile rack and have a second
hard drive and plugging this in, which also before worked perfectly
now does not connect to the internet also. Both hard drives same
problem, replaced both cables to the modem and reconnected everything
and tried this morning with same problem. Any suggestion please...

get to a cmd prompt and
ipconfig /release
Power reset modem, not the button.
When the lights stablelize, get to a cmd prompt and

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

ping 66.218.71.198 === that is Yahoo.com, if works
ping yahoo.com ===== if broke, your dns is bad,

Both broke, look at modem signal levels
http://192.168.100.1
Signal should look kinda like this
Downstream Motorola SURFboard sb4220 Upstream
Frequency 639000000 Hz Locked Channel ID 1
Signal to Noise Ratio 33 dB Frequency 19504000 Hz Ranged
QAM 64 Ranging Service ID 2666
Network Access Control Object ON Symbol Rate 3.200 Msym/s
Power Level -1 dBmV Power Level 39 dBmV

If works, find comcast helpdesk phone number.
